Hugo Suissas

June 19 through September 13, 2026
The Museo degli Innocenti a new temporary exhibition dedicated to Hugo Suissas, a contemporary photographer who reinterprets everyday reality through striking optical illusions and plays on perspective.

Exhibition Itinerary

The Museo degli Innocenti offers three thematic visit Itinerary : History, Architecture and Art. Together, these Itinerary create a unified narrative capable of helping visitors discover the complexity and uniqueness of the Innocenti's cultural heritage.

History Itinerary

The History Itinerary chronicles the evolution of the Hospital, from its origins to the 20th century, through artwork, archival materials, biographies and testimonies of those who lived there.

Art itinerary

The Art itinerary consists of the Picture Gallery, which is located above the Front Porch and exhibits works between the 14th century and the 17th century, and, shortly, the Galleria degli Affreschi , which overlooks the Cortile degli uomini.

Architecture itinerary

The Architecture itinerary allows you to visit Filippo Brunelleschi's famous Loggiato, the Monumental Courtyards, and the overlook of the Historical Archives.

Galleria degli Affreschi

The Art itinerary includes the new Galleria degli Affreschi , which brings together the detached sinopites and frescoes of various periods and origins received on deposit by the Soprintendenza alla Gallerie Fiorentine (now the Uffizi Galleries) in 1971, following the 1966 Florence flood.

Education

La Bottega dei Ragazzi of the Museo degli Innocenti offers creative and educational workshops aimed at schools, children, teens and families on topics related to art, culture and active citizenship with the intention of bringing new generations closer to artistic and cultural heritage through a practical and interactive approach that is inspired by thelearn-by-doing methodology of the Florentine Renaissance workshops and to foster their personal development with a view to being, from an early age, active and participating citizens.
