Museum for everybody

The Museo degli Innocenti adheres to the "Museum for Everybody" project: a project that brings together the concepts of education, mediation and accessibility within a new concept of museum defined as a participatory museum, where the public is active, intervenes, co-creates the museum itself. A museum that must therefore be at the service of society, within a framework of sustainable development and promotion of cultural diversity. In this perspective the Museo degli Innocenti offers a downloadable visit support for people with cognitive disabilities.

"MUSEUM FOR EVERYBODY" GUIDE
A tactile experience for partially sighted and blind people

The Museo degli Innocenti and its "artworks to be touched”

A project that aims to make some of the artworks of the Innocenti museum accessible to visually impaired and blind users.

Along the museum itinerary - from the history section, through the courtyards, to the art section - a series of 10 original works of art are now accessible to visually impaired and blind visitors. You just need to wear special latex gloves and you will be able to discover The Coat of Arms of the Silk Art, the marble font in the Courtyard of Men, the Coronation of the Virgin by Benedetto Buglioni and many other works!

Visiting aids

Family Tour

The Museo degli Innocenti has been conceived and designed to be child-friendly. The visit offers captions and audio-guided tours in Italian, English, French and Spanish, designed for the youngest visitors.

There is also a free kit for a special "treasure hunt" in the Museum for young visitors and their families.

The Museo degli Innocenti also offers workshops for families with the Bottega dei Ragazzi activities for children aged 3 to 11, inspired by the philosophy of learning by doing in the style of the ancient Renaissance workshops.

At the Museo degli Innocenti you can also take the free "Family Tour" visit kit, which in ten stages helps you get to know the city centre by inviting families to observe, imagine and understand.

Info www.familytour.it

The Bottega dei ragazzi also organises "birthdays at the museum" with workshops and cake cutting.

Family kit

A kit to help children discover the Museo degli Innocenti, a map to follow the route in stages dedicated to little explorers.

The Museum offers all families the opportunity to visit the museums in a more engaging way thanks to the Museum kit distributed free of charge. The bags made by the Pro-Fili laboratory of the Istituto degli Innocenti contain maps, games and cards which, together with digital applications for children, constitute a new means of visiting.

Children and families will discover the Museo degli Innocenti through interactive paths and the use of "game cards". In each deck there is an itinerary dedicated to a historical period guided by a child of the time.

Guided tours

Discover the history of the Istituto degli Innocenti with our expert guides, who will give you an insight into the history of this magical place where art, care for the weak and architecture come together in a unique mix.
